15 Minutes Of Frame (Comedy Short Film Competition)

YORKSHIRE COMEDY SHORT FILM COMPETITION: Leeds LaughterFEST, Hyde Park Picture House & LIFF Short Film City are proud to announce a spectacular new short film competition to help unearth the best writing and creative talent in Yorkshire.
It’s an amazing opportunity for aspiring filmmakers in the region to get their work up on the big screen, and seen by industry professionals and film festival programmers.

The best six entries will be screened together, at the Hyde Park Picture House, on Sunday 4th October, watched by an audience and judging panel of industry experts who will decide the winning entry. This film will then be considered for entry into the Leeds Film Festival and LOCO Comedy Festival, as well as screened again at the Hyde Park Picture House before their special anniversary screening of CLUELESS.

The competition is open to all filmmakers based in Yorkshire, who have created their shorts within the last 3 years. Films can be any length upto 15 minutes, and need to be uploaded to YouTube, before you email us the following information to holla@comedycultclassics.com:

– YouTube link
– Name of film
– Name of writer(s)
– Full crew credits
– What are your five favourite comedy films?
– Where in Yorkshire you are based?
– Why should we choose you? (in no more than 100 Words)

The competition closes on Wednesday 16th September at 11.59pm.

Remember, what we are looking for is exciting, original, independent talent in Yorkshire. Use this opportunity to work together with other creatives – remember, filmmaking is all about collaboration! Take on board too that comedy is completely subjective, use this to your advantage and utilise your imagination to discover your unique ‘voice’ so that your work shines through and stands head and shoulders above the rest! And most importantly, have lots of fun making your movies.

Best of luck!!
